Brianna Tam

Brianna Tam, originally from Connecticut, is a professional classical and electric cellist and composer. Starting her classical career at eight-years old, she continued her studies through high school, participating in the New York Youth Symphony, Asya Meshberg’s Chamber Music Institute, and Brevard Music Festival. She pursued a Bachelors in Music Performance at Oberlin Conservatory, but she withdrew during her second year and moved to Greensboro, NC. Brianna then enrolled part-time at UNC-Greensboro and began exploring professional performance opportunities. As a respected freelance cellist she became Assistant Principal of the Fayetteville Symphony, Principal Cellist of the Spartanburg Philharmonic, and a member of Deans’ Duets, LLC. Two years ago, she purchased a loop pedal and electric cello, drawn to their potential to enable her to independently create a full ensemble. This propelled her career as a classical cellist, electric cellist, composer, arranger, and session musician. She released a full album of originals March 2021. She currently works as a band and sessions musician, and collaborates online with composers and songwriters worldwide.
