Derrick Parker
Derrick Parker is a local film producer and actor who began his training at East Carolina University. He was later chosen to enter the classical training program at the University of San Diego/Old Globe Theatre where he earned his MFA. Regional credits include Othello, Hamlet, Comedy of Errors, The Old Settler, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Local credits include the world premiere of The Sting of the White Roses produced by the National Black Repertory Theatre of Winston-Salem, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Fox on the Fairway, and Leading Ladies. He’s performed TV and film work in New York and LA, and just completed a seven-year project writing, directing, and producing the feature-length film From Faith to Freedom, a story of wrongful incarceration.
