Nancy Vaughan
Nancy Vaughan is the 48th mayor Greensboro. First elected in 2013, she is now serving her third term and the first in which the mayor serves for four years. She is a native of New Jersey and moved to Greensboro with her family in 1989. She attended Fairfield University in Connecticut. She was employed by Talley Machinery Company, as Operations Manager, for seventeen years. During that time she was a community leader and involved in a number of issues. She was elected to the City Council in 1997, representing District 4 and served two terms. She left governmental service in 2001 to focus on her family and raising her daughter. In 2007, Nancy Vaughan successfully ran for the first of three terms as an At-Large representative on the City Council before her election as mayor in 2013. She most recently served as the Executive Director of the Guilford Green Foundation before leaving that position to focus on her role as Mayor.
