TEDxGreensboro is a local, volunteer-managed program developed under a license granted by the TED organization of New York City. The program’s goal is to create community involvement and participation by bringing people together around “ideas worth spreading.”

TEDxGreensboro
Program

Our local “TED like” Greensboro-centric program includes speakers, live entertainment, and engaging TED videos. There are usually ten speakers and 3 entertainers along with selected TED Talks. Our 5thTEDxGreensboro program is in April 20, 2017 at the Van Dyke Performance Space in the Cultural Arts Center. All our programs have been sold out.

TEDxGreensboro
Webcast

One-day telecasts from national and global TED conferences provide Greensboro participants the opportunity to see TED speakers as they appear onstage. The TED2016 (national program) was broadcast from Vancouver on February 18th. TED offers other programs, like TEDWomen and TEDCity. Attendance ranges from 115 – 200 individuals.

Salon
Series

The TEDxGreensboro Salon Series is engages the audience in conversation around a TED Talk. The format includes viewing a provocative TED Talk followed by a facilitated discussion. We often have a local speaker. Average attendance for the four salons is 80 individuals.

TEDxGreensboro charges a small registration fee for the programs but we depend on sponsorships to keep the fees reasonable. We welcome in-kind services and products, such as social media support, web hosting and management, publicity and media relations, event management and IT services from professionals.

Sponsorships include in-kind support, such as advertising or other services, or through a contribution to the TEDxGreensboro fund at the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro. Contributions are tax deductible.

ABOUT TEDx

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.) The local organizer for TEDxGreensboro is Skip Moore. Contact him: TEDxGreensboro@gmail.com
